Toyota's Dealer Daily is a large, Windows-based virtual private network (VPN) that links the dealers' management systems to Toyota headquarters or to other business units around the clock.
Dealer Daily lets dealers order parts, download sales and other company information, file warranty claims and manage financing and insurance for customers online, Dealer Daily helps in saving millions in printing and distribution costs
Toyota aimed to modernize the Dealer Daily application, and make it consistent with processes followed by dealers across North America. An onsite-offshore model was adopted to execute this project.
Dealer Daily is majorly used by the following four types of users
Sales Manager | Inventory Manager | Parts Manager | Sales Executive
Let us consider the Parts Manager role, and sketch a persona for the same user. A heuristic evaluation was carried out for the existing portal under the Parts Manager persona.
Then the ideal task flows were studied, and gaps in the flow were analyzed and expert recommendation were delivered to the client.
Wireframes were created to illustrate the recommendations. Toyota's brand colors and identity were considered while coming up with visual design recommendations for the Toyota Dealer Daily's new re-designed portal.
